Visions & Values Statement Minimize

In the past, Proverbs 29:18 (“Without a vision, the people perish.”) helped to express the faith and dream that became The United Church in Meadowood.  It represented a powerful metaphor for our congregation.

There will always be another step to take in our faith journey.  As we face the future, it is time again to reframe our vision and to express it anew.  We need to challenge ourselves continuously to take another step forward.  A new vision has the potential to fill us with hope and to renew our commitment.  Through a shared vision comes identity and a sense of purpose.

Collectively and individually, we have come to value what we experience here at Meadowood:

• a community of love, mutual respect, and sense of belonging
• a strength from the variety of our people
• the challenge and choices offered
• a lifestyle that calls us to service
• a spirituality that calls us to a depth of living
• the dedication, competence, and teamwork of our leadership
• an atmosphere of openness in communication, consultation and involvement

 We seek greater knowledge:

• in discipleship
• in developing community
• in learning
• in service

As a congregation seeking to flourish, we have a variety of visions.  We want to take responsibility for being the church by:

• providing opportunities for people to explore their faith
• strengthening our spirituality
• involving children and youth
• being a welcoming, nourishing fellowship
• caring for those in need
• serving our community and its needs
• becoming self-sufficient in our stewardship
• training, supporting and appreciating our volunteers and leadership

The mission of The United Church in Meadowood is to become a congregation that grounds itself in personal relationships with Christ, nurtures itself in the fellowship of the Church, and empowers itself through God to seek justice in the world.

Our Logo Minimize

The Mission of the United Church in Meadowood is to become a Congregation that grounds itself in personal relationships with Christ, nurtures itself in the fellowship of the Church, and empowers itself through God to seek justice in the world.

The cross in the logo represents the relationship with Christ. The fellowship of the church is represented by outstretched (supporting) arms. The arms also represent the service to our community and throughout the world.
